DEBUT ALBUM SET FOR RELEASE APRIL 1;
CHARTS ON CMJ TOP 200

BAND CELEBRATE PHENOMENALLY SUCCESSFUL
TOUR OF CHINA

DAMONE have been tapped by The Ataris and The Juliana Theory for a three-week opening slot that will include dates in the midwest and along the east coast. Damone are confirmed for the first week of the tour (March 24-31) and the last two weeks (April 27-May 14). Also on the bill are Further Seems Forever. In between these shows, Damone will head out to the west coast for a brief stint with The Movielife in early April.

No stranger to the road, Damone spent most of last year sharing stages with the likes of Mooney Suzuki, The Distillers, Homegrown, Sahara Hotnights and most recently with The Reunion Show in preparation of the release their RCA Records debut From The Attic on April 1. From The Attic flaunts 11 brilliant bursts of relentlessly melodic 70s-inspired rock that's already drawn favorable comparisons to bands as varied as Cheap Trick, The Donnas, Butch Walker, Kenickie, The Runaways, and Hüsker Dü. The album entered the Top 15 at #14 on the CMJ Top 200 chart as well.

Named after Fast Times At Ridgemont High's wise-cracking ticket scalper, Waltham, MA-based Damone --vocalist Noelle, guitarist Dave Pino, bassist Vasquez, and drummer Dustin Hengst -- are already winning over fans. To wit:

"The Massachusetts-based power poppers could have appeared in any number of late 70's/early 80's teen coming-of-age movies, but half their line up was still riding Big Wheels at the time. Noelle's singing is surprisingly melodic, intently powerful and sufficiently bad-assed."

"All 11 songs on From The Attic ... prove David Pino's ability to write unbelievably hook-laden rock songs. Noelle adds just the right amount of feminine panache to smooth the songs rough edges with her breathy singing style and sugar-frosted harmonies."
--CMJ

"...starting punchy, then beating you over the head with powerchords and a hook-y chorus. Tracks such as 'Carwash Romance' attach puppy-love heartbreak to sweet 'n' simple melodies as Noelle coos about riding BMX bikes to the carwash and getting high with her sweetheart."
--Rolling Stone

"Damone one-ups The Donnas' Joan Jett inspired Rock 'N' Roll brattiness, thanks largely to the tomboyish verve of 17 year old lead singer, Noelle. The Rick Nielsen-worthy songwriting sensibilities of guitarist, Dave Pino infuse Avril-esque tales of teenage romance and misadventure “At The Mall” with the hyper-kinetic energy of Andrew WK,

Their acclaim isn't just limited to the U.S. however. Damone played a series of packed club shows for frenzied, enthusiastic crowds in China in December. As Damone bassist, Vasquez, writes in an online tour diary (check out www.damone.net): "When we played our set, the audience went crazy. I couldn't believe how awesome the crowd was and to our surprise they knew all the words to "Territorial Pissings." Nirvana are the Beatles of China! It turns out we are the first western band to play in Nanjing." Damone got a similar reaction at their show in Beijing. "The highlight of the show was when Noelle jumped up on the speaker tower, working the audience like Ozzy and then jumping into the crowd. When she jumped, I panicked. My first thought was that she was hurt because the speakers were really high, but she got back up onstage. After we finished the song, the promoter told us we needed to take a break because the crowd was out of control and they were concerned we would be arrested for inciting a riot." Audiences stateside will get a chance to catch Damone's live show in the coming months. Dates for The Ataris tour and more will be announced shortly.
