I Ate It: The Elvis Cupcake
“You Were Always on My Mind…”
A lady I work, with who’s hip to the fact that I love foods made with bacon, just brought me three of these little cupcakes from a bakery called Robicelli’s Gourmet Market, near where she lives. It’s called The Elvis: a banana cupcake with peanut butter frosting, sprinkled with bacon, and it was awesome! The cupcake was moist and banana-y, while the frosting was whipped into light and creamy, peanut-buttery goodness. The bits of bacon on top added a wonderful salty contrast to the sweet frosting. I ate one and it was so good I almost died. But I did not die. I lived to eat the rest of these cupcakes later! Thanks, Mary!

Hello!
I’m Allison, co-owner of Robicelli’s, and co-maker of the Elvis cupcake (my husband Matt is the other, and better, half). I am so happy that you enjoyed our cupcake, and wanted to thank you for the positive review! I also wanted to make a slight correction- we are located in Brooklyn, not Queens. We just made a fresh batch of Elvises today if anyone’s interested!
Thanks for the cupcakes, the comment and the correction, Allison – I’m making it now. Sorry for being an ignorant Manhattanite!
