I Went to California and I Had Fun

Me Having Fun In LA, Left to Right: Ryan, Me, Sue, Nathan, Wendy, Jason, Seven, Anna. Fun!
I know it’s been a while since I updated this thing. I hope you missed me as much as I missed you. I was away because I flew out to California to surprise my Dad for Father’s Day, because that is just the kind of amazing daughter I am. Dad was really surprised and happy to see me and did not have a heart attack and die in the restaurant as I feared might happen when he saw me, being that he was not expecting me to show up in California from NYC for Father’s Day. Thank goodness he lived, because accidentally killing my Dad on Father’s Day would have really been a drag.
Before I went down to Orange County (where my parents live) for the Big Father’s Day Surprise, I had the chance to spend a couple of days in LA hanging out with my West coast peeps, eating many delicious foods and getting way too much sun. It was awesome. And you should see this hot pink, Indian silk print slip dress I got on Venice Beach for $10! What a bargain! I Love California!
Please enjoy a collection of rad pictures of me having fun in the sun after the jump.

My Two Cents on The Sopranos Finale!
I stayed up way past my bedtime last night to watch the final episode of The Sopranos, which I’d had to record, because I was out at a Big Rock Show. While I am seriously paying for it today in the not-enough-sleep department, I’m so glad I forced myself to watch it as soon as I staggered in the door instead of waiting until tonight, because it was just so good. I admit I was left sitting on my bed at the end going “What? What just happened? Did my tape run out? when the screen cut to black right as Steve Perry was singing the words “Don’t Stop” in the woefully underrated Journey song, “Don’t Stop Believing.”

Happy 4th Birthday to Worleygig.com!
Today the Staff of Worleygig.com celebrates four fantastic years on the web! Here’s a particularly awesome testimonial that came in a few days ago just to help us mark this great occasion!
“I first made Gail’s acquaintance while I was the managing editor of a small-but- growing music magazine in Philly. One of my duties in this position was to seek, manage and coddle our semi-talented, semi-literate and semi-paid staff of writers and contributors. One day, as I plodded and wept through yet another round of edits of the current month’s crop, I got a call from a fast-talking, but highly personable woman from New York who, for some inscrutable reason, was interested in writing for my crappy rag. She sounded confident and experienced, had a great sense of humor, seemed flexible as an interviewer and, most importantly, lived in New York City.

Alexa Ray Joel: An Unexpected Blowing of the Mind
A friend of mine, Marc “The Slut” Slutksky, is a pretty darn good drummer. He played drums on Pink’s most recent record and, you know, the kid stays busy. Marc’s current gig involves playing drums in the backing band of singer Alexa Ray Joel. And unless you’ve been living your entire life under a pile of rocks, in a cave, beneath the ocean you know that Alexa is the daughter of Billy Joel and Christy Brinkley.
